Using double brackets without making a link

When editing a page under the Edit Page tab, users place double brackets around text to create an internal link. Once the page is saved, this text appears as a link and the double brackets won't show around the text.

When writing a help page, you may need to write about creating a link. In such cases, you might want the double brackets to appear under the normal View Page tab.

While editing the page, place an exclamation point (!) before the first set of double brackets. Doing so will prevent the link from being made and allow the brackets to appear under the normal View Page. Below, two links have been created in the Edit Page view. The link on the left was created normally with double brackets. The link on the right, however, has an exclamation point before the brackets. In the page view the exlamation point doesn't appear, but if you click on edit page, you'll see how the links were created.
