Gaye H. Nicholls worked at St. Gabriel's School for the Deaf near Sydney, Australia where she used Cued Speech to teach deaf chidren. She got her master's degree in from McGill University and studied under Dr. Danial Ling. "Cued Speech and the Reception of Spoken Language," co-authored by Nicholls and her advisor, Dr. Daniel Ling was published in 1982.
