Visual Phonics is a system of hand cues and written symbols that are intended to represent the phonemes of a spoken language as part of a multisensory, phonics-based approach to teaching reading. It was developed for use with deaf and hard-of-hearing children, but it also used with children who are autistic, English Language Learners, or have language learning diabilities.
