Dsignated Interpreters is looking for a full-time contract sign language interpreter or cued speech transliterator for a Designated Healthcare Interpreter (DI) position starting July 2nd for a medical resident in Massachusetts. This is a unique residency in that it will not entail the usual grueling hours of inpatient hospital rotations but instead steeped in the world of clinic, research, academia and government. The interpreter/transliterator's ability to create an atmosphere of inclusion and respect in highly confidential and sensitive areas including LGBTQ and sexual health is especially critical in this role.
This is a full-time contract position (meaning you are a contractor but with the benefit of a set yearly rate to provide comprehensive services to the client) . Team support will be provided when necessary and when the DI is proactive in recruiting contract interpreters for specific activities requiring a team. Travel around the state of Massachusetts will be required.
If you are new to applying to DI LLC please read the documents found at this link. If you have previously worked with DI LLC please only send an updated resume, up-to-date certifications and memberships (including RID), cover letter and a signing sample preferably translating part of a lecture on sexual health topics.
Email with your intent to apply so that we can review your materials in a timely fashion. Pay depends on experience, availability, and ability to meet clients needs or if further training and mentoring will be required. Also in addition to one full-time contract position we are looking for excellent candidates to provide hourly team support too! Try out something new - you just might be convinced that work can be fun!!
