Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment

The Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) for Cued Speech was developed in 2007 by Dr. Jean Krause, University of South Florida, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. In January 2010, the Virginia Department of Education, Special Education Regulations adopted EIPA as an alternative option for Educational Interpreters who work in VA public schools.

Prep materials for the receptive portion of the EIPA Cued Speech (cue to voice) are not available at this time. However, the prep materials for the performance portion of EIPA Cued Speech (voice to cue) are the same as those used for sign language interpreters.
