Rev. Denis Mermod of Geneva, Switzerland is credited with developing with Dr. Cornett the Cued Speech adaptations for Malagasy and French.

History

Mermod was a Presbyterian minister who planned to introduce both cued french and cued Malagasy at a school for deaf children called, Institute Pour Enfants Aveugles et Sourd Muets (The Insitute for Blind and Deaf-Mute Children).
